Cold & Concerts
3 May 2008 10:33I've had this nasty headcold developing since Tuesday. It gave me a reprieve on Wednesday, which was well-timed for a concert then, but on Thursday it came back and has slowly moved around my head and gotten worse. I woke up this morning with a very angsty throat, though it's clearing up a bit at the moment. Interestingly, both yesterday and today, the main symptom has been my ears. They've been under a lot of pressure and are extremely blocked. It reminds me of the colds I had when I was a little kid - back when I had ear infections all the time... not an encouraging thought.
Fortunately, tonight's concert involves my playing harpsichord, not singing. It's the Euridice (baroque ensembles) Concert, held at Smith College at 7pm. I'll be driving over there after Mass & Newman in case anyone wanted to claim a ride with me or anything. Because I've been accompanying the Baroque Song Seminar, I'll be all over the program, accompanying various singers and duets & trios. The concert won't be the same forever-long monstrosity as it was last year, at least.
Tomorrow night is Collegium's second concert of the season, also at 7pm, at the Episcopal church next to Smith College. Hopefully I'll be able to sing then, and this cold will be out of my way!
The final Composer's Concert is on May 12th, a Monday evening, probably at 8pm though I have to check. Hopefully I'll have a string quartet on it... that'd be nice. I just need to do some actual work on it soon. ASAP.
aaaaaannd my ears hurt.
