Calling Umass Musicians!!!

By the way, the Composer's Concert is in a month: Saturday 13 May 4:00pm.

I have a nice little 3-movement piece that I want to have performed there, and it calls for a flute, an A clarinet, a trombone, a cello, and a marimba. Kristen Dye is likely the flautist because she did Hampstead and is enthusiastic about doing another piece of mine. (Thanks so much, Kristen, it means a lot to me!) If any of you local folks have suggests for who to ask for the other parts, let me know. It's a pretty straightforward piece, but will take some rehearsing to get right, of course.

Cheers and good night!

Pretty Thursday Afternoon

Pretty fun day so far, despite almost constant momentary distracting thoughts. The word "liar" comes to mind. But that really isn't any of my business; I'm just really concerned for an old friend of mine.

Organ lessons are actually cranking up now: I have to have one of my pieces up the right tempo for next week, which is a little daunting. On top of that I have physics homework due tomorrow which promise to be very tedious, and I have to have my first ten-page draft of the Charles I paper finished for Monday. Eek!

I just thank God for making this sort of crappy, busy week go by quickly.

Also played frisbee at the Haigis Mall bus stop for a bit when I got back from MHC. Running around in the grass barefoot... have not done that for ages. Unfoprtunately this made it too gross to put my socks back on, so I walked up O'Hill barefoot. That was an experience worthy of forgetting ;) Time for a shower now!

This evening is the all-of-a-sudden concert in which Chamber Choir sings a bunch of stuff and our renaissance choir joins in for what I suspect will be the last piece. It'll be a good time.

I've been wearing shorts today. Ergo, it is too hot for spring.
