Talking to friends with French and/or Irish ancestry occasionally leads to some political/historical commentaries and friendly rivalries. This evening seems to have taken a turn towards hilarity however. Observe:
the Brench: British folk music is what I was raised on ;-)
Friend: ahhh
the Brench: and Irish, since I'm not technically supposed to lump that under "British" anymore
French: no you're not ;)
the Brench: hah
the Brench: next they'll be telling me that there's Irish culture outside Armaugh
Friend: *crosses out Grandma's name on the list of people for Matt to meet*
Friend: hehehe and i'm french and irish
the Brench: it's alright
the Brench: as long as you know who saved the world in the 1940's, I'm cool with French folks
the Brench: O:-)
Friend: bah!
Friend: ker-thwack!
the Brench: a little channel can go a long way
Friend: *writes an IOU*
the Brench: I only accept gold nuggets
the Brench: or whatever kind of nuggets you got on ya....
the Brench: ...chicken nuggets...
the Brench: long story short, I seem to have a lot of friends who are French and/or Irish
the Brench: I'm still alive, so clearly I haven't offended too many people too much :-P
the Brench: hmm, I should go subjugate a small third-world barbarian horde and reclaim some glory or something....
the Brench: it's what we do best
Friend: that it is
the Brench: then we give them our language and culture
the Brench: and eventually they give us terrorism
the Brench: so we let them go
the Brench: they fall into civil war and disorder
the Brench: and eventually solidify into rival states with nuclear weapons who hate each other so vehemently that they forgot how much they hated us
the Brench: and there you have India and Pakistan :-!
I love friends. Together we make the world a better place. Or at least a little funner and more light-hearted.
